The Mitsubishi QJ71C24N serial communication module (enhanced version) is a high-performance interface module designed for Q-series programmable controllers (PLCs). It features one RS-232 channel and one RS-422/485 channel, supporting a total transmission speed of up to 230.4 kbps across both channels. This module is compatible with GX Configurator-SC Version 2 software for configuration and diagnostics.

The QJ71C24N enables efficient data collection, modification, monitoring, and management of PLC data, as well as the collection of measurement data. It supports high-speed, large-capacity communication at speeds of up to 230.4 kbps, allowing for the transmission of up to 960 words (when using MC protocol communication). Through the MC protocol, external devices such as PCs and display terminals can read from and write to the PLC memory.

By selecting the no-protocol (non-procedural) communication mode, users can control communication via sequence programs, enabling direct data exchange between the PLC and external devices such as barcode readers or measuring instruments using their native protocols. The RS-232 port on the QJ71C24N(-R2) also supports programming and monitoring of the PLC using a programming tool (e.g., GX Works2 or GX Developer).

Additionally, the QJ71C24N(-R2) is equipped with functions compatible with public telephone line modems. It can initialize the connected modem and establish connections with remote devices, allowing communication between remote equipment and programming tools via modems and public telephone lines. To enhance security, the module supports a remote password function, which prevents unauthorized access to the Q-series PLC via the modem functionality of the QJ71C24N(-R2).
