CS1 improves space efficiency: by installing 10 basic I/O units (96 I/O points each) on a CPU rack, up to 960 I/O points can be controlled. Alternatively, by installing five analog input units and five analog output units, up to 80 analog I/O points can be controlled.
Refresh performance for data links, remote I/O communication, and protocol macros is improved.
Previously, I/O refresh for CPU bus units occurred only during the I/O refresh cycle after instruction execution. However, with the new CS1, using the DLNK instruction enables immediate I/O refresh. This immediate refresh for CPU bus units improves refresh responsiveness, such as the process of refreshing CIO/DM area words used for data links and DeviceNet remote I/O communication when an instruction is executed.
