The Omron CPM1A-40EDT is an expansion I/O module designed to extend the input and output capabilities of a CPM1A series programmable logic controller (PLC). This module is specifically classified as an Expansion I/O Unit, and only one such unit can be connected to a single CPU unit.
The output type is transistor output, configured as sink (NPN) type. The module provides a total of 24 input points and 16 output points. It is engineered for space-saving and cost-effective applications, particularly suited for small-scale equipment and control panels with a limited number of I/O points.
As a standard model in the micro PLC category, the CPM1A series includes four basic CPU types: AC power supply, DC power supply, relay output, and transistor output. Users can select the appropriate power supply and output configuration based on their specific application requirements.
The CPM1A supports a set of fundamental instructions for programming, including:
1. LD – Load instruction: starts a logic operation with a normally open contact.
2. LD NOT – Load Not instruction: starts a logic operation with a normally closed contact.
3. AND – AND instruction: connects a normally open contact in series.
4. AND NOT – AND Not instruction: connects a normally closed contact in series.
5. OUT – Output instruction: turns on an output or internal relay.
6. OUT NOT – Output Not instruction: turns off an output or internal relay.
7. OR – OR instruction: connects a normally open contact in parallel.
8. OR NOT – OR Not instruction: connects a normally closed contact in parallel.
9. AND LD – Block AND instruction: connects two logic blocks in series.
10. OR LD – Block OR instruction: connects two logic blocks in parallel.
11. END (01) – End instruction: marks the end of the main program.
