### Extended Introduction of the Mitsubishi HG-KR23BJ Servo Motor

The Mitsubishi HG-KR23BJ is a high-performance, low-inertia, small-capacity servo motor designed for precision motion control applications. With a rated output of 0.2 kW and a rated speed of 3000 r/min, this motor is ideal for systems requiring rapid acceleration and deceleration, such as pick-and-place machines, assembly robots, and automated manufacturing equipment. Its low-inertia rotor design minimizes mechanical time constants, enabling faster response and higher throughput in dynamic applications.

The motor is equipped with an electromagnetic brake, ensuring safe holding torque when power is removed, which is critical for vertical or gravity-dependent axes. An oil seal (oil seal) is included as standard, providing enhanced protection against oil ingress (see Notes 1, 2, and 3). This feature is particularly beneficial in environments with lubricants or coolants, improving motor longevity and reliability. Note that the oil seal is applicable to HG-KR and HG-MR series motors of 0.1 kW and above, as well as the HG-SR series, but is not provided when a gearbox is attached. Additionally, the inclusion of an oil seal may alter the standard external dimensions of HG-KR and HG-MR series motors.

The HG-KR23BJ supports a wide speed range, with a maximum speed of 6000 r/min, and delivers a peak torque of 350% of the rated torque. This high torque capability at elevated speeds is a distinctive feature of the HG-KR series, enabling powerful performance even in high-speed rotation zones. Such characteristics make it suitable for applications requiring both high speed and high torque, such as high-speed indexing or cutting processes.

The motor integrates a high-resolution absolute position encoder with 4,194,304 pulses per revolution (22-bit resolution). This encoder provides precise position feedback, enabling accurate positioning and smooth motion control. The high resolution also supports advanced servo tuning and reduces vibration, contributing to superior contouring accuracy in multi-axis systems.

In terms of environmental protection, the HG-KR, HG-MR, HG-RR, and HG-UR series motors are rated IP65, offering robust resistance against dust and water jets. This makes the HG-KR23BJ suitable for use in harsh industrial environments, including those with cutting fluids, airborne particles, or washdown requirements.
