The Mitsubishi 8.4-inch Touch Screen GT1665M-STBD is a high-performance model from the GT16 series, designed to deliver multimedia capabilities and advanced functionality for industrial automation and human-machine interface (HMI) applications. Featuring an 8.4-inch TFT color display with SVGA resolution (800 × 600 dots), the unit offers enhanced brightness and a wide viewing angle, making it suitable for use in environments where clarity and visibility are critical. The display supports 256 or more colors, ensuring vivid and detailed graphical representation.
The GT1665M-STBD is equipped with a black bezel housing and operates on a DC24V power supply. It includes a built-in RS-422 communication interface, along with standard ports for Ethernet, RS-422/485, and RS-232, enabling flexible connectivity with various control systems and devices. Additionally, the HMI features both USB Host and USB Device ports, supporting data transfer, peripheral connection, and firmware updates. The model is compatible with multimedia and video/RGB units, expanding its application range to include visual monitoring and playback functions.
The touch panel employs analog resistive technology, which requires careful maintenance to ensure accurate operation. Users should avoid allowing water droplets or soft foreign objects to adhere to the screen surface, as these can cause false touch detection or impair the accuracy of the surface acoustic wave system. For cleaning, it is recommended to use a soft, dry cloth or a mild cleaning agent, gently wiping from the center of the screen outward. Alternatively, a cloth slightly dampened with industrial alcohol or glass cleaner may be used.
If the touch screen becomes sluggish or unresponsive, this may indicate an aging system with a low internal clock frequency, or the presence of moisture on the screen surface. In such cases, upgrading the system or carefully drying the screen may restore responsiveness. Additionally, if the cursor moves in the opposite direction of the user’s touch—for example, leftward touch causing rightward cursor movement—this may be due to reversed connection of the control box or inverted screen orientation. This issue can typically be resolved by repositioning or reconnecting the components accordingly.
The GT1665M-STBD also offers a user storage capacity of 15MB (11MB for the GT16__-VNB__ variant), providing ample space for application data, screens, and system files. With its multimedia support, embedded communication functions, and robust design, this model is well-suited for advanced industrial applications requiring reliable and interactive operator interfaces.
